Quick Links: Debunk Those WAH Myths

It’s true that when you work from home a lot of people don’t take you seriously. I’ve found that some people simply cannot comprehend anything that is out of the traditional corporate American lifestyle. For instance, every time I talk to my father he asks me “So what are you doing with your life? Are you looking for a job yet?” The first 10 times it was funny, now it’s borderline offensive.

The I don’t have a “real job” is the myth that most often plagues me. Here are some other myths about working from home.

Don’t Be a Loser, Think Ahead

In business there are winners, losers, and everyone in between. There’s much speculation on what separates the groups, from God-given abilities to work habits. I think that one of the major things that separates the winners from the losers is that losers wait for someone to tell them to go, while winners have already crossed the finish line.

What am I talking about? Well, it all comes down to planning in advanced. Don’t wait until the last minute to get yourself together because you’ll be left behind in the dust. A lot of blogs are writing about how to plan your time around the holiday season, as often times family takes priority over work during the last week of December. That’s great and it’s something that should be considered, but unlike most I think that aspect should have been planned out during the first week of the month at the latest.

Things That Make My Life Easier: Notebooks

With all this Jott, Twitter, Calgoo, and various other odd sounding technologies, sometimes it’s easy to forget how easy the basic things in life are.

Enter the notebook.

I have three notebooks that I use to help me stay on track.

1) My million dollar ideas book- Anyone in internet marketing will tell you that once you start building sites, ideas for new sites pop on a regular basis. This notebook is a plain composition notebook where I write down all of my ideas. In fact, this book helped me start All Diva Media. Business Wife & Life is also found in the pages of this book. Yes, “Million Dollar Ideas” is written in large text on the cover of this book.

2) How I Built The Business of My Dreams is a spiral notebook where I track my daily progress in terms of how I’m building my business.

3)My third notebook doesn’t have a snazzy name but it’s a book where I write down notes when I am reading books so I can remember what I’ve learned.

Forget mind mapping with crazy color coordinated charts, a simple notebook makes my life so easy.
