Actually, I quit my job to start my own business before we had kids -- and I did not do it to have kids, but because I wanted to start my own business & set my own hours. It seems like the "mom" part is an easy reason to give the working world. Like it's okay to quit you job to stay home & work with kids, but to just quit you job to work at home is weird? Hum. I started working at home about 2 months ago after leaving my job. Nobody seems to understand, but I love it! I'm not even a mom! You strike me as the kind of woman that has gone past worrying what other's think, but needed to vent. You and I and about a million other people know that most people working outside the home for an employer would sooner be working for themselves with some flexibility to work out of the home, should that be their choice. The reality is most people can't AFFORD to strike out on their own, which is perfectly valid, or they fear they haven't got what it takes to make it on their own. Either way, no one is wrong, we just all have choices to make. We should make it without the spewing the doubt/regret/negativity on others. The answer is nothing, lol. There are quite a few people who think that it must be nice to be able to sit at home all day and do nothing while my husband works.
